The sequel to the hugely popular adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ novel

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire broadens the scope of its predecessor: Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) are back in District 12 as victors of the previous Hunger Games. Yet they are far from safe. President Snow (Donald Sutherland) strongly urges Katniss to show the public that her professed love for Peeta was real and not an act of defiance against the Capitol. But its already too late: Katniss has become a symbol for the rising resistance against the tyrannical regime, which retaliates in its own fashion: a special edition of the Hunger Games, consisting only of past winners from the Districts. Peeta and Katniss must head back into the Arena…

In this second installment Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amanda Plummer, Jeffrey Wright, Patrick St. Esprit, Sam Claflin and Jena Malone are new additions to the cast and Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, Water for Elephants) is taking over directing duties from Gary Ross (Pleasantville), who was responsible for Part One.
