’Hugo‘ star Asa Butterfield trains to defend Earth in a looming alien war

X-Men Origins: Wolverine helmer Gavin Hood is set to bring Orson Scott Card’s award-winning novel Ender’s Game to the screen. Set 70 years after a horrific alien war, Andrew “Ender” Wiggin, an especially gifted child, is sent to an advanced military school in space to prepare for a future invasion by the Formics alien race. But will this extensive training make Andrew Wiggin (Asa Butterfield) too dangerous for his own good?

Butterfield shot to fame after starring in 2011’s multi Academy Award winning Hugo by Martin Scorsese.

Harrison Ford will star as Colonel Hyrum Graff, and Ben Kingsley plays heroic International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham. Popular young actress’ Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine), and Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) are also co-starring.
