A Tree of Life style drama examines a family in the Mexican countryside
Shot in a mostly silent, expressionist style, Post Tenebras Lux (Latin for ‘light after darkness’) chronicles the marriage of Juan and Natalia (Nathalia Acevedo) after their move from the city to the Mexican countryside.
Mexican director Carlos Reygadas (2007’s Silent Light) is running the independent film festival circuit with his latest drama. The film premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in May 2012 where it won Reygadas the Best Director award.
