Sarah Polley’s documentary explores her own family’s history Rashomon-style

Stories We Tell is released in New York on May 10, 2013 one week prior to its release.

In Stories We Tell actress and filmmaker Sarah Polley (Take That Waltz) explores her own family’s history in an inspired and decidedly personal fashion. Through many a funny, moving and, more often than not, contradictory interview with other family members, Polley discovers that the truth about the past very much depends on the stories we tell about it.

Stories We Tell had its premiere at the Venice Film Festival in 2012 and also was show at the Toronto Film Festival, where it won awrads for Best Documentary and Best Canadian Film. The documentary drew near unanimous raves.
