A film chronicling the eventful making of Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece.
Hitchcock chronicles Alfred Hitchcock's uphill battle to make Psycho, arguably a classic and one of the most influential films of all times. The legendary director, played by Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins, faced unconfident financial backers, hostile censors (Psycho was shocking content for the 1960s) and personal doubts before, during and after the production of the film.
Director Sacha Gervasi assembled quite a cast to portray the real-life figures involved in the making of Psycho. Scarlett Johansson plays Janet Leigh, while James D'Arcy stars as Anthony Perkins, who created Norman Bates, one of film history's foremost villains, on screen. The latter was based on real-life serial killer Ed Gein, who will be portrayed by Michael Wincott in Hitchcock.
