Ghostbusters 3

The Ghostbusters return to defend Manhattan from its greatest threat yet. Original director Ivan Reitman is set to begin filming in summer 2013 for the long-gestating installment of the ghostbusting franchise.

Unfortunately for long-speculating fans, writer Dan Aykroyd has confirmed that Billy Murray who originally starred as Peter Venkman will not be involved in the project. No news on whether original cast members Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson are on board to reprise their roles.

Since the last sequel was released in 1989, development of a third film has been a slow-moving process.
