The swinging sixties come alive in Sally Potter's latest flick
Renowned experimental filmmaker Sally Potter (, ) shifts to more commercial fare in this story of growing up in 1960s London. Dakota Fanning and newcomer Alice Englert (the daughter of Australian filmmaker Jane Campion) pair up as best friends navigating the sexual and political tensions of the swinging sixties. When they join the Ban the Bomb movement, their solidarity is tested when one of their fathers (Alessandro Nivola) begins an affair with his daughter's best friend. With backing from BFI and BBC Films, and on-screen support by Annette Bening and Christina Hendricks, Ginger & Rosa promises to explode onto screens in 2013.
