Mos Def plays a young Samuel L. Jackson in this prequel to Jackie Brown
Ordell Robbie (Mos Def) and Louis Gara (John Hawkes) hit it off in prison, where they were both doing time for grand theft auto. Now that they're out, they're joining forces for one big score. The pair kidnap housewife Mickey Dawson (Jennifer Aniston) only to discover her millionaire embezzler husband, played by Tim Robbins, doesn't want her back and refuses to pay the ransom.
The film is based on Elmore Leonard's novel The Switch. Leonard later wrote a sequel to said novel, Rum Punch, which was adapted by Quentin Tarantino under the title Jackie Brown. Daniel Schechter who recently directed Supporting Characters, has written the adaptation and is set to direct.
