An adaptation of the George Orwell classic, where big brother is always watching!
The second movie adaptation of George Orwell's dystopian classic will hopefully put the BIG in Big Brother.
Its 1984. An atomic war has nearly wrecked Planet Earth. Winston Smith is a civil servant, working for the Ministry of Truth of the province of Oceania, one of the world three superstates. Like most other citizens he is indoctrinated to follow every order of 'Big Brother', a dictator type of figure, brought to every citizens home via telescreen. Individualism and independent thinking are considered 'thought crimes'. Winston is certainly no criminal when it comes to those. This changes, however, when he falls in love with his colleague Julia. Soon they will come to know the cost of intellectual autonomy...
1984 has already been turned into a movie twice. One of them was released - fittingly - in 1984. It starred John Hurt and, in his last screen role, Richard Burton.
