Bond, James Bond. Oscar Nominations, five Oscar Nominations.
Daniel Craig reprises his role as the iconic 007 in the latest installment of the Bond series. This time Bond's relationship to his boss M (Judi Dench) is tested when her past comes back to haunt her.
Craig is joined by Ralph Fiennes (Schindler's List) and lesser-known but critically-acclaimed Ben Whishaw (Perfume: The Story of a Murderer). Whishaw brings everyone's favorite spy technician, Q, back to the screens. French actress Berenice Marlohe and Naomie Harris (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End) get the 'Bond Girl' honors this time around. And of course where would we be without a sinister bad guy to battle Bond? Javier Bardem is at his most enigmatic as villain Raoul Silva.
The screenplay is written by John Logan (Gladiator) and Bond regulars Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.
This new Bond film also marks a return of Bonds signature car the Aston Marton DB5.
Adele's Skyfall, one of the best Bond songs in years, won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song.
Skyfall received five Academy Award nominations: Best Cinematography, Best Original Score, Best Original Song, Best Sound Editing and Sound Mixing.
