The next magical, musical fairy tale from Disney Animation Studios
In a new animated musical loosely based on the 1845 story The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen, Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) voices the role of Anna, a young woman about to set out on the adventure of a lifetime. Together with daring mountain man Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), Anna attempts to find the Snow Queen (Idina Menzel) and find a way to break the spell that has trapped their kingdom in eternal winter. Chris Buck (, Tarzan) and Wreck-It Ralph writer Jennifer Lee will co-direct.
The film features a wealth of vocal talent. Menzel won a Tony in 2004 for her leading role in the Broadway smash-hit Wicked, after rising to fame in the original stage cast of Jonathan Larson's Rent, a role which she reprised in the 2005 film adaptation. Groff has also performed on Broadway, most notably in the critically-acclaimed coming-of-age musical Spring Awakening for which he was nominated for a Tony.
