Tom ‘Bane’ Hardy takes on the iconic role that made a star of Mel Gibson
Tom Hardy takes on the iconic role that made a star of Mel Gibson in the latest installment of this Australian cult classic! Set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, Mad Max: Fury Road will include a convoy of five caged women known as the ‘Five Wives’ (played by the beautiful Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton , Riley Keough and Aussie supermodel Abbey Lee Kershaw).
Mad Max: Fury Road has had a long production history: monsoon-like rainfalls in 2009 curbed on location filming in the Australian desert as flowers bloomed - hardly the post-apocalyptic landscape we've come to expect from the series. Though production was delayed, filming resumed again in July 2012 in Namibia.
Besides Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises, ) as the titular hero ‘Mad’ Max Rockatansky, the cast includes Academy Award-winning actress Charlize Theron (Monster, Prometheus) as the female warrior Furiosa, and rising young actor Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class). Legendary director of cinematography John Seale (Dead Poet's Society, The English Patient) is working on the movie, which will receive a post-production 3D conversion.
