Masters of the Universe

G.I. Joe: Retaliation director (, ) is in talks to bring Masters of the Universe to the big screen. Based on the 1980s Mattel toy line, the project would be the second film adaptation of the franchise following Gary Goddards 1987 film starring Dolph Lundgren.

Masters of the Universe takes place on a planet called Eternia and centres on the conflict between the heroic He-Man and the evil Skeletor. Battle Cat, The Sorceress, Teela, Man-At-Arms and Orko are all set to return.

The franchise had its TV debut in 1983 with the cult cartoon series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
