A highly unlikely adaptation of the fantastic video game!
The long gestating film adaptation of the popular video game BioShock is probably never happeneing. First announced in 2008, both Gore Verbinski and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo have been attached to direct the project which has been plagued by budget and rating issues. Irrational Games' creative director Ken Levine revealed that he killed the project after the dissapointing boxoffice performance of Watchmen. The latter had the effect that a hard R rated $200 million movie would be difficult to get off the ground. And we all know that BioShock would have been just that...
Set in 1960, the first-person shooter video game Bioshock puts the player in the role of a plane crash survivor named Jack, who must explore the underwater city of Rapture, and fend off attacks from mutated beings and mechanical drones.
