The Hangover is gone: Todd Phillips turns to dramatic fare with remake
Funnyman Todd Phillips of , and fame will take over a project originally set to be directed by Martin Scorsese. Phillips, who directed a number of acclaimed documentaries before turning to mainstream comedy fare, will get serious with a remake of the 1974 film The Gambler, based loosely on the Fyodor Dostoyevsky story of the same name. Directed by Karel Reisz, the original film charts a successful English professor's descent into a world of gambling and moral depravity.
