Gears of War

Based on the eponymous video game, the movie version of Gears of War will presumably focus on the story of the legendary humanity's last stand against the Locust, a hostile alien race on a planet named Sera.

In the Epic Games video game series published by Microsoft, players could assume the roles of both Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago and it is to expect that both of the characters will make an appearance on the big screen adaptation.

New Line had the rights for Gears of War for quite some time but failed to get the project off the ground. Stuart Beattie (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) wrote the screenplay.
