A movie version of Rockstar Games' award winning video game Grand Theft Auto has been long rumored and hoped for by the vast fan-base. Sadly, that movie version never even come close to being made.

The acclaimed first part of Grand Theft Auto has spawned three sequels. The basic premise of the franchise centers on a wannabe criminal at the beginning of his career, who, during the course of the game, rises through the ranks of the underworld.
