The Adults is based on the darkly and incisively funny 2011 novel by Alison Espach. Massy Tadjedin writes and directs the coming of age story, having previously adapted the screenplay for the sci-fi thriller The Jacket in 2005 and written and directed the original romantic drama Last Night in 2010.
