The Purge

Set in a dystopian future, The Purge follows a family (led by Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey) who must protect their home when a man seeks shelter in it during the annual 'Purge'. The violent spectacle functions as a sort preasure valve for society, allowing for a 12-hour period in which all illegal activity is legal.

Hawke is teaming up for the second time with writer/director James DeMonaco for The Purge, after the two worked together on the similarly-themed crime thriller Assault on Precinct 13.
