Hanna-Barbera's kung fu fighting dog will be voiced by Eddie Murphy
No superhero is more respected than Hong Kong Phooey (voiced by Eddie Murphy)! The super dog, whose alter ego is the gentle police station janitor Penry, fights crime with the help of his manual, 'The Hong Kong Book Of Kung Fu' and his sidekick, a striped cat named Spot. Truth be told Phooey is quite the putz and the bulk of the crime fighting is done by Spot. Still, how could you not love Hong Kong Phooey!
The status of Hong Kong Phooey is currently unknown. Test footage for the CG animated big screen adaptation of Hanna-Barbera's 1970s TV show was shot - to less than enthusiastic reaction from everyone who saw it.
