As Halloween arrives, many of us are scrambling to find the best horror films for this year's Halloween night moviethon. Some of us are dusting moth balls off our old discs. Others are combing through Netflix and Shudder hoping to find a darkly inspiring idea. But not everyone has time to seek out the perfect list of Halloween horror flicks.

To those people I say "rest in peace," as we've got a veritable compendium of blood pumping, spine-tingling movies hand picked for you. That isn't even the best news, however. There's no need to to go shopping, rent from Redbox or even fire up the ol' Blu-Ray player. Every chilling feature on this horror list is totally free to watch online throughout the month of October.

And don't forget to check the time code listed on a few of these movies to find the best moments to scare the Helloween out of your friends and loved ones. They're covered by spoiler tags to hide the info from anyone who doesn't want to know beforehand.

Insidious (2010)

Director James Wan started a new horror franchise with this supernatural thrill ride about a child whose spirit has been taken by malicious beings who reside in a dark place called "The Further."

  • Synopsis: A family looks to prevent evil spirits from trapping their comatose child in a realm called The Further.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986)

Prepare yourself for the blood splattering second installment of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise with a film that is more funny than the first, but also a lot more gross in more than a few ways. With Dennis Hopper playing a former Texas ranger related to victims from the first film, this sequel has a unique over the top energy.

  • Synopsis: A radio host falls prey to the infamous cannibal family who redefined the word "massacre."

Hellraiser (1987)

Horror master Clive Barker directs this horrific cult classic, based on his own novella 'The Hellbound Heart,' in which a sexual deviant unwittingly opens a portal to hell.

  • Synopsis: After unleashing a group of sinister beings who leave him for dead, Frank (Sean Chapman) is forced to lure victims back to his house and use their blood to reconstruct his mangled body.

Suspiria (1977)

This brilliantly directed cult horror film featuring blood and witches and an incredible score, is considered Dario Argento's masterpiece. Many people still claim its infamous window scene provides the scariest jump-scare in movie history.

  • Synopsis: A ballerina begins to suspect her school harbors a hideously dark secret after a gruesome murder spree begins. Is the murderer just flesh and blood or something much darker?

The Collector (2009)

The director of several Saw sequels, Marcus Dunstan, developed a proposed Saw film idea into an all-new movie featuring gore and torment for its characters. Prepare yourself for blood, mayhem and a different kind of Collector.

Synopsis: A desperate man plans a heist to steal a valuable jewel from a wealthy family. After breaking into their home he learns he isn't the only criminal on the prowl. A masked madman, who isn't collecting jewels, has locked him in with the family.

The Messengers (2007)

Evil Dead creator Sam Raimi produced this supernatural horror film, directed by the Pang Brothers, featuring Kristen Stewart in a pre-Twilight role.

  • Synopsis: Jess (Kristen Stewart) and her younger brother undergo terrifying attacks by supernatural forces and no one believes them. Jess must find a way to convince her parents before it is too late.

38:50 - After Jess is literally attacked by parts of her house, ghostly hands pull her into darkness.

Repulsion (1965)

Repulsion is arguably Roman Polanski's best horror film, thanks to its lead performance from Catherine Deneuve as a woman slowly losing her mind. The movie is still found in many "top 10 greatest horror movie" lists thanks to its ability to instill dread in viewers.

  • Synopsis: Left alone when her sister goes on vacation, a young beauty finds herself besieged on all sides by the demons of her past as she slowly descends into lunacy.
  • Best Jump Scare:

1:33:14 – Carol turns around and sees a man laying beside her in bed who then attacks her.
