I love films and I love comics. Would it be great if both of them were brought in to one? Oh wait they are. Let's do some blogs then!

If you haven't seen Doctor Strange, do not read this article. Major spoilers are ahead.

After Doctor Strange was released, a lot of things in the movie have given the Marvel Cinematic Universe a whole new dimension in terms of magic and supernatural forces. However, there was one thing that really got my mind reeling when I watched the film. During one of Doctor Strange's conversations with the Ancient One, she revealed to the Doctor that there are multiple universes, hinting that this extends to the continuity of the MCU.

I agree that should be taken with a grain of salt. However, as a fan who loves to speculate about things, I cannot take this fact lightly. There are some huge implications with that statement alone. I sat down and thought about what those implications are, and I came up with a few things that could happen in the MCU from here on out.

The Spider-Verse

With Spider-Man: Homecoming coming to cinemas in 2017, and with Spider-Man's appearance in Captain America: Civil War, there's no doubt that Spider-Man will be an important character in the MCU. One could only wonder how far the MCU would go with the character. Maybe the Spider-Verse would be something that could give light to the fact that Spider-Man has had multiple film franchises in the past. Maybe we would get to see some actors reprise their roles as our favorite web-head. Maybe we would get to see Miles Morales, or even Spider-Girl!

Introducing the Characters from the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool Films

After talking about Spider-Man, whose movie rights were previously owned by Sony, Marvel Studios worked out a deal in order to be able to get Spider-Man to appear in MCU films. Now I know it's not very likely, but with the recent introduction of parallel universes and dimensions in the MCU, it would eventually be easier for Marvel to work out a deal with Fox regarding movie rights. In fact, Marvel and Fox have been making deals for the Deadpool film and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 regarding character rights, so maybe it really isn't highly unlikely that Marvel and Fox to negotiate. Who knows? Maybe we will get to see the X-Men appear alongside the Avengers. Maybe we would get to see Thanos give a bouquet of flowers to Death.

Ghost Rider's Supernatural Element

With the introduction of alternate dimensions, it's quite possible to see Mephisto's Realm make an appearance in properties of the MCU. With Ghost Rider's introduction in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, as well as a big reveal that Robbie Reyes might not be the only Ghost Rider, would we get a glimpse of Mephisto, the one who struck a deal with Johnny Blaze to be the Ghost Rider?

The Soul Stone (Or Gem)

With Avengers: Infinity War coming soon, Thanos will be on the hunt for the Infinity Stones. Five of the six Infinity Stones have already appeared in the MCU, with the final stone, the Soul Stone, due to make an appearance. In the comics, the Soul Stone (or the Soul Gem, if you really want to get technical) contains a pocket universe where absorbed souls exist. Perhaps at some point in Infinity War, we'd find some characters existing within the Soul Stone, but just perhaps.

As with any speculative piece, one should take this article with a grain of salt. Sometimes theories are simply theories. If you have any theories about what the implications of parallel universes in the MCU are, be sure to sound of in the comments! I'd love to hear your ideas.
