(WARNING: The following contains moderately sized plot SPOILERS for next week's episode of The Flash — though nothing that The CW hasn't been happy to promote itself. Proceed with whatever level of caution that suggests to you is wise all the same, though.)

Now, Mark Hamill will surely always be best remembered for playing Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars movies, but his voice work as #TheJoker in various animated #DC projects looks increasingly likely to come in a close second. For fans of #TheCW, however, Hamill is perhaps currently best known as a very different DC villain — The Trickster.

And, not content with having already stolen a whole lot of scenes in past episodes of #TheFlash...

Specifically, it looks as though Hamill will be turning up in next week's episode of The Flash, with several official promo images featuring the beloved actor interacting with John Wesley Shipp's Jay Garrick. What's more, since we already know from the recently released video promo for the episode that Garrick will be playing a key role...

...it seems rather likely that Hamill will in fact be playing the Earth 3 version of The Trickster. Who, from the looks of it, might just be a little more like The Joker than we might have been expecting:

Could we finally be set to see Hamill bring his classic Joker stylings to The Flash, then, combining his take on The Trickster with his more old-school voicing of the Clown Prince of Crime? It certainly seems less improbable than it did a few days ago...

However things ultimately pan out in the episode, though, it's reassuring to know that, in the wake of this week's giant CW-wide crossover event, The Flash has still left some geek-tastic content aside for next week's episode. It is the mid-season finale, after all.

What do you think, though? Will Hamill bring a distinctly Joker-like energy to next week's episode — or even turn out to be playing Earth 3's Joker? Let us know below!
