**Some spoilers for Logan follow, so if you would NOT like to know some details, don't read on!**

Earlier last week we were given quite a few details about the up-and-coming #Wolverine movie An official poster was revealed along with the title of the movie, #Logan, a few character shout-outs were given, a violent aftermath was rumored along with an image of the once great, but now pretty old and wrinkly-looking Professor, Charles Xavier.

Some new information surfaced a short-time ago on the film's Instagram page, and in all honesty, it's pretty exciting stuff!

Sure it's just an average-looking picture with a single word, but to loyal fans of the #XMen comic-books, we know that he could be a really big problem for the quickly aging Wolverine.

What Does 'Pierce' Mean?

It means this: Actor Boyd Holbrook, famously known for his role in the Netflix series Narcos, and movies like Gone Girl, and Run All Night, will play the villain Donald Pierce!

If you aren't familiar with the character, Pierce is a cyborg who was a member of the Hellfire Club’s Inner Circle. You might remember the Hellfire Club from X-Men: First Class.

A pretty big accomplishment, Pierce was beaten by the X-Men, and not too long after that, he left the club and became the leader of the thuggish cyborg group called the Reavers. Both he and the Reavers have proven to be especially brutal foes for the X-Men, particularly during the era in the late 1980s when the team was based out of Australia. (Coincidence? I think not!)

The X-Men had set up shop in an abandoned town in the Outback after driving the original Reavers out. The group was previously led by Bonebreaker, Skullbuster, and Pretty Boy, but with Pierce as the new management, The Reavers eventually returned and retook the town. But that's not all — they even crucified Wolverine for good measure. It ended a little more poorly than this for Logan:

Boyd Holbrook as Pierce is just the second villain to be revealed as part of the Logan cast. Richard E. Grant (Bram Stocker's Dracula, Corpse Bride) was said to be playing a mad scientist-type villain, which we have since learned is the X-Men's nemesis, Mister Sinister, who was referenced in the post-credits scene from X-Men: Apocalypse, and who, in the comics, had dealings with Pierce and the Reavers. Mister Sinister is just as his name suggests, so we'll definitely get a taste of him in Logan.

Logan is being directed by #JamesMangold (The Wolverine), and stars #HughJackman as Wolverine, #PatrickStewart as #ProfessorX, Boyd Holbrook as Donald Pierce, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant as Caliban, Eriq La Salle and Elise Neal. Logan is loosely based on the Old Man Logan story by writer #MarkMillar and artist Steve McNiven.

If all goes well, Logan will hit theaters on March 3, 2017.
