What if we still had Christian Bale as our Dark Knight and Brandon Routh as our Man of Steel? In my opinion, there would be a huge change in the consensus of DC Comics fans all over the world. Brandon Routh as Superman/Clark Kent was Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, though Superman Returns received mixed audience feedback after almost 20 years since we had seen Christopher Reeve's widely beloved portrayal of the character. Despite mixed reviews of Man of Steel, Batman v Superman and Superman Returns, what would the DCEU landscape look like if Brandon Routh stayed around a little bit longer as Superman?

While The Dark Knight Nolan franchise is highly revered for its great stories, sound scheme and overall quality, Christian Bale's acting is a bit questionable. People seem to love Ben Affleck's portrayal of the caped crusader thus far (and we still have yet to see the solo Batman film). All in all, both are good in their own ways — Affleck rugged and actually scary because he kills, whereas Bale's Batman is clean: He doesn't kill and he uses alternate means to try to take out enemies without having to kill them.

I created this new fan-made trailer based on an alternate reality that still features Routh and Bale in the DC Comics Universe. I have Kevin Spacey in there as Lex Luthor, Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane, and a surprise character playing Bizarro, which I thought should have been the main baddie in Batman v Superman instead of Doomsday.

Enjoy and let me know in the comments what you guys thought of Brandon Routh and Christian Bale as well as which portrayals of The Dark Knight and The Man of Steel you like most. Check out the trailer below and check out my social media links for much more content. Enjoy!
