The latest Wonder Woman trailer made everyone excited for its release — but amidst all the Wonder Woman hype, there was another trailer drop that I found to be equally awesome, if not more so. Yes — the release of LEGO Batman is getting ever closer (February 10th for most of us), and the fourth trailer was full to brim with irreverent parody, tongue-in-cheek humor, and of course, #eastereggs. So let's jump right in and break this down, brick by brick!

1) Read The Signs

There are a couple of winks in this frame here. On the right, you can see a red sign with "Batman Forever" inscribed on it, obviously a reference to 1995's movie of the same title. Just above that one is a large "POW!", that can only be a wink towards the Adam West Batman of the sixties, and the famous punch cards. The rest seem to simply reference how great #Batman is — something we can all agree on, I'm sure.

2) The Burton-Mobile

Circled in the image above, you can see what very much appears to be a #LEGO version of the Bat-mobile that Michael Keaton drove back in the classic 1989 film. It's hardly surprising that we'd see it, as it's often cited as the best looking version of the Bat-mobile to appear in live-action, and it looks damn good in brick form. The rest of the vehicles just seem to be standard LEGO set vehicles, but if you recognize any of them, then please do drop us a comment.

3) Kryponite Swords???

This one is more of a guess than anything else, but with the trailer including a line where Batman says that Superman is his worst enemy, I'm wondering if that might be somewhat of a running gag. Considering that the bat-cave has historically almost always housed some Kryptonite, I reckon there's a small chance that we're seeing the Dark Knight with his very own Kryptonite daggers.

4) The Bat-Suit Party

As hard as it may be to tear your eyes away from how fabulous Robin looks, I ask you to divert your attention to the two Bat-suits on either side of him. To our left we can see a missing suit (it's on the ground I think) with the name "Winged Avenger". This is not, as you may have guessed, a reference to Marvel, but rather a nod to Episode 6 of Season 5 of the classic '60s British TV show The Avengers. On the other side of Robin is a suit named "The Bat Pack", which can only be a pun centering around the famous "Rat Pack". Cesar Romero — who played the Joker in the '60s Batman series — was often associated with the Rat Pack, so this is another nice nod to Batsy's roots.

5) Uhhh... Grodd?

This may have seemed like a harmless shot of Batman reminding us of his master-building skills, but did you notice the giant gorilla peeking his head around a skyscraper at the far left hand side of the frame? Yeah, it looks like the Donkey Kong from Pixels has found his way into this movie somehow. In all honesty, I have no clue how this is meant to be incorporated into the film, but it's worth noting that the most famous gorilla in the DC universe is Grodd, who has psychic powers. So perhaps this is all in Batman's head?

Wrapping Up...

There are loads more Easter eggs and references in this trailer, and it was hard just narrowing it down to five. If you are looking for more, then check out this awesome post that documents all the movie references in the new trailer. After this trailer, I really cannot wait for this film to come out, because it just... looks... hilarious. Only four months to go!
