Now, with most jobs, the leaking of key details relating to your employment tends to either a) get you fired or b) turn you into an iconic figure of governmental resistance, but force you to live in exile in Russia while Oliver Stone makes a movie about your life. If you're the star of a major Hollywood #superhero movie, however, things don't really work that way.

That's not down to any lack of interest in secrecy on the studios' part, though, but rather the result of #socialmedia making the "natural" revelation of behind the scenes details just as straightforward as a press release. As such, we routinely see movie stars (and, often, directors) revealing shiny new posters, behind-the-scenes clips and, on occasion, giant plot reveals on their very own social media pages. The latest such revelation?

Chris Hemsworth Just Teased Thor's New Costume In The Best Way Possible

Specifically, in the form of a well-timed statement of support for a political issue close to the hearts of millions...and a heartfelt mea culpa regarding a past mistake on #ChrisHemsworth's part. While Hemsworth (alongside his #ThorRagnarok director #TaikaWaititi) was standing with Standing Rock, and revealing his past experience wearing exactly the sort of insensitive costume you're going to see a whole lot of this Halloween, though, he was also giving us a glimpse of his shiny new costume from the film.

And, sure, the fact that Hemsworth is actively engaging in one of the key political issues of the moment is arguably far more interesting than the fact that #Thor will be wearing a more gladiatorial (and distinctly sleeveless) outfit in Thor: Ragnarok, but that doesn't mean we can't be intrigued by both at once.

After all, there's really nothing stopping Chris Hemsworth from being both an engaged and empathetic political being and the Norse God of Thunder. Unless Loki has anything to do about it, I suppose. Or Darryl, I guess...

Still want more on Thor, and the upcoming Ragnarok? Never fear, we've got you covered right here.

In the meantime, though, what do you think? How do you feel about Thor's new costume, and Hemsworth's political stance? Let us know below!
