Corey Feldman has reached out to Paris Jackson in the aftermath of his bizarre, much-maligned performance to relive the good times he spent with her late father, Michael Jackson.
The 45-year-old former child star, who had a complicated relationship with Michael Jackson, Tweeted to Paris offering his love and support at a time when they have both been on the receiving end of media criticism.
Paris Jackson quickly responded to the sweet Tweet by replying that Feldman should continue to ignore the haters and explore his creativity:
18-year-old Paris was clearly willing to forgive and forget Feldman's initial 2005 testimony against her father during his infamous child abuse trial. At the time, Feldman explained that:
"I started looking at each piece of information, and with that came this sickening realization that there have been many occurrences in my life and in my relationship to Michael that have created a question of doubt."
Despite initially being concerned Jackson could indeed have been guilty, Corey changed his mind at a later date and publicly spoke out about the late pop great's innocent nature to the press stating that "he was not that guy."
"He was a guy who was so innocent, so kind of sheltered, you couldn’t even swear around him. You couldn’t talk about drugs, you couldn’t talk about nude women, you couldn’t talk about sex. You couldn’t talk about anything, because he was a very religious man for much of the early stages of his life and career."
Although Paris has always stood by her fathers side and tireless attempted to safeguard his reputation, she has also been a target for the hatred of MJ mega-fans who have cruelly suggested she isn't doing enough to honor her late father's legacy.
The teenager was harassed online after neglecting to post and Instagram tribute to her dad on Father's Day (despite getting a tattoo in his honor) and has since recorded and subsequently deleted a video urging fans to be more compassionate.
Luckily, Paris's fans have always stood by her side, just like family friend, Corey Feldman:
It's awesome that Corey and Paris can support each other in the often cut-throat environment that is Hollywood. Here's hoping they can have that talk one day.
Do you think Corey Feldman did the right thing to reach out to Paris Jackson?
