Creepypastas are a modern storytelling phenomenon. With roots in urban legends, folklore and campfire stories, creepypastas are a digital way of sharing and exploring our darkest fears. The most famous creepypastas, such as Slender Man, Laughing Jack or The Russian Sleep Experiment have been read by fans of the freaky all over the world, but what is it exactly that makes a creepypasta seriously scary?
