Now, #Deadpool has never really been one to do things by halves, so it's perhaps not all that surprising that the interview he recently gave to Empire Magazine took a turn for the completely unhinged. That, after all, is very much Deadpool's thing — and even with #RyanReynolds technically doing the talking, the Merc with a Mouth was never likely to suddenly reveal himself to be a shrinking violet. Y'see...
Deadpool's Favorite Movie Of 2016 Isn't What You'd Expect
Specifically, it's apparently #HuntForTheWilderpeople. Which, what with it being a charmingly offbeat New Zealand adventure movie about family, the treatment of children and, of course, being stuck in the wilderness. Directed by #ThorRagnarok director #TaikaWaititi, it's a sweet, fan-pleasing movie that's been one of the surprise indie hits of the year — none of which explains quite why Deadpool would love it so much.
Is ol' Pool just a really big fan of the film's star, #SamNeill? Has he always dreamed of visiting New Zealand? Does he simply really like the idea of hunting Wilderpeople? Or, alternatively, is the film simply Ryan Reynolds's favorite movie of the year, thus making it the obvious choice for a genuine, indie movie-promoting answer in an otherwise very silly interview?
We may never know for sure, but if you're inclined to check out the movie for yourself, it's available on VOD and Blu-ray now...
