Although we still have a few weeks before we sneak a peak into Newt Scamander's briefcase in J. K. Rowling's #FantasticBeasts, the domestic box office forecast is already looking very promising indeed.

Considering it's been years since we last saw Rowling's wizarding world come to life on the big screen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, it's safe to assume that the upcoming expansion is likely to bring Warner Bros. a hefty paycheck upon its release on November 18. After all, no true Potterhead would miss it for the world.

Currently, early estimates of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them box office ranking predict an eye-watering $75 million domestic opening in America. And that's still leaving Warner Bros. just under three weeks to execute their final marketing strategies to promote the first instalment in a series of five planned films. Oh, and then there's also the Thanksgiving weekend which is likely to give it an extra push upwards.

Comparatively, according to Box Office Mojo, the final movie in the #HarryPotter series saw Deathly Hallows: Part 2 shovel in a whopping $169 million during its opening weekend on July 15, 2011. So although Fantastic Beasts still has quite a bit to go before hitting this impressive mark, it's still well on its way to becoming one of the most successful releases on 2016.

Directed by David Yates, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Carmen Ejogo, and Ron Perlman and hits theaters on November 18, 2016.
