Fans everywhere have appreciated the man who has given us one of the most memorable superhero performances ever. Hugh Jackman has played the character of Wolverine six times (not counting his cameo appearance in X-Men: First Class) with his seventh time as the clawed mutant being next year's Logan. And now, the first trailer is finally here:
Epic, right? It seems to be everything we've been hoping for.
This will mark his final appearance as Wolverine in the X-Men franchise. Jackman has carried this character and continues to be the standout star in every one of the X-Men films. James Mangold, who directed 2013’s The Wolverine, will again helm this film with Jackman assisting with the script.
An International Red Band Trailer Also Hit The Web:
This trailer isn't much different other than the final scene in the trailer which involves Logan slicing his claws through the head of an enemy. I believe the scene was only placed there to let fans know that this is in fact a rated R film and this clip proves just that. The clip wasn't entirely necessary but it shows audiences what we're in for.

The Marketing For Logan Has Been Heating Up Recently
As the marketing for Logan has started rolling these past few weeks, fans have been treated with plenty of black and white pictures to try and dissect what the storyline of Logan will be about. With the trailer reveal, that mystery has been made at least a little more clear.
But before this first look at Wolverine’s final film, there have been plenty of teases to tide us over, particularly about how old Logan looks:
What Can We Learn From This Photo?
One thing is for sure, Jackman looks pretty beat up in this photo. What made this picture more surprising was the fact that Logan looks worn down and is starting to show his age for a guy who simply doesn’t grow old. However, it's previously been revealed that Wolverine is losing his healing factor; you can easily spot a scar running down the side of his face.
That wasn’t the only thing released in anticipation of the trailer. Jackman himself took to his Twitter account and posted a short five-second clip as a tease to the full trailer:
What’s The Meaning Behind His Words?
A line that stuck out particularly clearly was when Logan said
“Nature made me a freak. Man made me a weapon. And God made it last too long.”
The first sentence explains everything he feels about himself. Logan believes he has animal characteristics and is being treated as such. The second part describes how he eventually became Wolverine with his adamantium claws developed as part of the Weapon X experiment run by William Stryker. He was brought up as a killing machine and never understood his past until meeting Charles Xavier and the X-Men. Finally, we can interpret the last sentence of Logan being extremely upset at the man upstairs who he believed placed a curse on his entire life. And it appears Logan is going to have to make his peace with all three of those entities as his days draw to a close.
