Gal Gadot News & Rumors
As Wonder Woman has been appointed Honorary Ambassador for the Empowerment of Woman and Girls by the United Nations, a ceremony in New York was held to launch the equal rights initiative titled "Think of All The Wonders We Can Do." Lynda Carter and Gal Gadot were both in attendance, marking the first appearance of the two Wonder Women together.
They gave moving speeches on what it meant to play the character, with Gadot applauding the decision to make her an ambassador:
"Wonder Woman seeks to promote strength, wisdom, leadership, justice and love — qualities that, combined, make us the very best that we can be. Wonder Woman is a fighter, better than most, but it's what she fights for that is important. It's her vision of a future of peace and acceptance that makes her the right ambassador for everyone."
This Blu-ray extra for Batman v Superman takes you behind the scenes of the creation of Wonder Woman, from the tough workout to the designing of her outfit and weapons. Gadot explains the training was extremely hard, but turned out so rewarding in the end that it was all worth it:
"We worked out every day for two hours for the past seven and a half months. It was amazing. It was very challenging, but I learned so much about myself."
Particularly for Batman v Superman, she had to do a lot of martial arts and weapons training, since most of her screen time is dedicated to fighting. For this part of the training, she was happy to feel that learning dancing gave her a head start.
"Being a dancer helped a lot, because at the end of the day it's all about choreography."
On press tour for Keeping Up With the Joneses, Gal Gadot was obviously asked about the DCEU and the upcoming Wonder Woman. In just one short answer, she perfectly summed up what the character was all about, and how it was different from the other DC superheroes:
"Wonder Woman is different. On this film, we went back to Diana's backstory — to her history, her coming of age. How did Diana become Wonder Woman? But with this character, what I love about her so much is that her agenda is love. It's not about fighting, it's not about who is stronger than whom; it's not about women versus men. It's about love, and acceptance of others. She stands for love, justice and compassion."
If Wonder Woman delivers, it'll certainly be a new dawn for the DCEU.

Gal Gadot's Biography
Born in Israel in 1985, Gal Gadot won the 2004 Miss Israel pageant when she was only 18, and went on to compete for Miss Universe. After the contest, she enrolled in the Israeli Army for two years of mandatory military service — she has repeatedly stated her time with the armed forces taught her humility, discipline and resistance, with the added bonus of weapon knowledge that she was able to put to good use in movies such as Fast & Furious.
She went on to study law at Reichman after her time in the army, when she was contacted for the Bond girl part in Quantum of Solace. While the role eventually went to Olga Kurylenko, the casting process led her to the Fast & Furious franchise, for which she performed her own stunts.
Although she is getting more and more roles in film, she still models in campaigns such as the recent one for Gucci's perfume, Bamboo. She's also a mother and a wife, married to real estate developer Yaron Varsano since 2008.
What's probably most striking about her is her down-to-earth attitude, such as this statement she made in a recent interview with Glamour, proving that the success wasn't getting to her head:
"Nothing I planned happened. But whenever opportunity arose, I was prepared and positive. And all those things I didn't get, all those "almosts"—if I got them, I wouldn't be Wonder Woman. What's mine is mine, and what's not mine was never meant to be."
