The #Marvel Cinematic Universe hasn't often sported the balls to kill off major characters, but with the threat of #Thanos and an #InfinityWar looming, there's a pretty solid chance that could be about to change.
Speaking to Hey U Guys this week, Jeremy Renner acknowledged the chance that his archer, Hawkeye, could be the first #Avenger to meet his demise in Infinity War:
"I don’t know anything ... I know [Infinity War and Avengers 4] are happening. But I don’t know outside of my involvement or anything else. I can’t tell you! What if I’m dead in the first one? I don’t know. I might already be dead."
Up until now, #Hawkeye has felt pretty under-developed in the #MCU, so if he were to fall victim to Thanos or another villainous force in Infinity War, it wouldn't necessarily come as a huge surprise. It would be a shame, though — Renner has an easy chemistry with Scarlett Johansson, and the depth of the relationship between Black Widow and Hawkeye has yet to be properly explored. If her long-hinted at solo movie ever happens, he feels like an essential piece of the puzzle.
Renner went on to discuss, in typically vague language, his thoughts on what he knows of Infinity War so far:
"I know the talks [about] what it’s about sounded fantastic. The Russo brothers have got some really great ideas and they’re following certain parts of Infinity Wars [in the comics]. There’s some really exciting stuff for a lot of the characters ... what they’re thinking about doing with Hawkeye especially, I’m pretty excited about."

That may make it sound as if Hawkeye is in little danger of meeting the grim reaper, but equally it could mean the Russos have lined up an epic, memorable death for Clint Barton. On the other hand, maybe he's just regurgitating PR spiel.
Avengers: Infinity War, directed by Civil War's Anthony and Joe Russo, hits theaters May X, 2018. Vote in the poll below to predict which Avenger will bite the dust.
