(WARNING: The following contains major plot SPOILERS for next week's episode of Legends of Tomorrow, largely in the form of official still images. Proceed with whatever level of caution strikes as you as being the least damaging to the timeline.)

Now, while tonight's episode of #DC's #LegendsOfTomorrow is going to be a little preoccupied with that whole "giant #TheCW-wide crossover event" dealio, that doesn't mean that we won't soon see everyone's favorite ragtag team of time-displaced heroes and villains return to their timeline-repairing ways in the very near future. Indeed, from the looks of the latest teaser images from next week's episode, "The Chicago Way," it seems that we're about to see the team head close to a century back in time. What's more, it seems that...

Yup, that's right. Y'see, while most of the promo images for next week's episode simply suggest that the 1927-set episode was just an excuse to get the whole gang into adorably 1920's-style costumes...

...there is also, it seems, something far more substantial at play. After all, from the looks of it, the Legion of Doom is finally set to coalesce into something roughly approximating an actual team:

That's right: It seems that Malcolm Merlyn will finally be joining up with the villainous crew — something that seems unlikely to bode well for our heroes, not least because Captain Cold is still presumably waiting in the wings somewhere, too.

In other words? Things may well be about to get a little rough for the Legends come November 8, not least because the episode's synopsis seems to imply precisely that:

When a new Time Aberration is discovered by the Legends, they find themselves headed to 1927 Chicago. The Legends quickly realize that they have been set up by Eobard Thawne (guest star Matt Letscher), Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) and the newest member of the Legion of Doom, Malcolm Merlyn (guest start John Barrowman). While everyone is trying to help fix what they think is the mission, Jax (Franz Drameh) encourages a reluctant Stein (Victor Garber) to share his secret with the other Legends. Stein is taken captive and Sara (Caity Lotz) must make the tough choice of either stopping the Legion of Doom or saving Stein. Meanwhile, Rory (Dominic Purcell) gets an unexpected visitor and is not sure how to handle it.

But, then again, we've known trouble was on its way ever since the show's Season 2 trailer hit the internet...

...so perhaps it's for the best that it's finally arriving. Better the Legion of Doom you know, and all that...
