(WARNING: The following contains minor plot SPOILERS for 2014's surprise success story, John Wick. However, since they mostly only reveal the nature of a few minor deaths in a movie rammed full of bloody murder, you're likely all good. Proceed with caution and all that, though.)

Now, to say that 2014's #JohnWick was a particularly violent movie is a little like saying that 1994's #TheLionKing was a particularly animated one. Being a consciously bloody, murderous and vengeance-fueled revenge-thriller does, after all, tend to lead to a fairly elevated body count, much as being an animated Disney movie tends to lead to a film being, y'know, animated.

Just how brutal John Wick was, however, is still a little up in the air. Thankfully, though...

A count that, as it turns out, is a fair amount higher than previously estimated. Y'see, a while back, an intrepid Youtuber named Nick DiNizio posted a "kill counter" for the film, in which it was calculated to contain a whopping great 76 kills at the hands of #KeanuReeves's Wick himself.

That lofty total, though, may actually have underestimated the film's vigilante killing spree's impact. Y'see, as the film's co-director David Leitch recently revealed in an interview with Empire:

"That number’s a little light. I saw that video, but they forgot to count the guys in the various SUVs he crashed and blew up. If you include them then it’s actually 84."

So, there you have it folks. John Wick, in the course of a 101 minute-long movie, straight up killed 84 people. Which is...actually pretty horrifying, when you really start to think about it. Not least because #JohnWickChapter2 is set to hit theaters on February 10, 2017, and seems sure to lift that tally well into the 100's:

But, then again, that is what you get for messing with Keanu's dog.
