With the CW's Arrow-verse having already made its return to TV with the season premieres of The Flash and Arrow, we can now set our sights on spin-off series Legends Of Tomorrow which shall return for its second season next week. However, being the awesome network that they are, the CW have released a brand new trailer to increase anticipation for the new season, and man did they succeed!
Check out the brand new Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2 trailer below:
Judging by the new trailer, Legends Of Tomorrow will arguably have the biggest responsibility in tying all of the Arrow-verse shows together for the four-way crossover later this year, featuring #Arrow, #TheFlash and #Supergirl. And that only took up some of the trailer. With so much integral footage let's take a closer look at some of the important info this new preview has revealed.
Meet The Justice Society Of America
Ever since Patrick J. Adams' intriguing debut as Rex Tyler in the Season 1 finale, we knew this moment was coming. And this trailer formally introduces us to the Justice Society of America which includes Tyler's Hourman as well as Stargirl, Dr. Mid-Nite, an earlier iteration of Vixen, Commander Steel and we even get our first look at the legendary Lance Henriksen as Obsidian. And judging by Ray Palmer's overexcited voiceover, the JSA's reputation will certainly precede them.
We also get to see them kicking some major butt, particularly Stargirl who has no problems taking out enemies with her cosmic staff. Additionally, we also get to see Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Vixen accessing the mystical powers of the animal kingdom for the first time, much like her character's granddaughter did on Arrow last season.
It seems like the Justice Society Of America will have a major role on the show this season, and after seeing a mere preview of their roles in the trailer, that is most definitely a good thing.

The Legends Are In Trouble
It seems that dark times lie ahead for our favorite Legends. At the beginning of the trailer, we catch glimpses of Sara Lance being escorted by guards, Ray Palmer and Mick Rory being stopped in their tracks and Martin Stein and Jefferson Jackson looking petrified wearing some very old fashioned robes. The point is, all of them seem to be scattered throughout different areas of the world, and even in different time periods. Furthermore, in the present day, newcomer Nathan Heywood relays his fears for the Legends to the only man who can help them, Mayor Oliver Queen — the Green Arrow.
Will the Green Arrow be able to save the Legends? And how will the team be able to escape the time periods they are stranded in?
History Is At Stake
Last season, the team had their mission — defeat Vandal Savage. While they succeeded in doing that, it was still very much their choice to do so. This time, however, it seems like they might not have a choice. With New York suddenly exploding during World War II, the trailer alludes to the possibility that Damian Darhk is leading the Nazis. With Darhk most certainly not being alone in this new vendetta, Professor Martin Stein aptly tells the team that they are history's last line of defense. We already know that Sara will be looking for revenge against Darhk for killing Laurel, so expect to see some badass fighting on the part of the White Canary.
In doing so, it seems like there will be even more time travel involved, with Sara Lance seducing the Queen of France and Stein knocking out and kidnapping Albert Einstein. While the team will inevitably end up going a little Barry Allen crazy with altering the timeline — bringing modern technology to previous centuries — perhaps they may be doing it for the greater good and end up stopping this new evil that is threatening history. The danger already feels like it's on a much bigger scale than last season, and this can only mean good things for Season 2.
Things Are About To Get A Whole Lot Crazier
You'd think that merely because of the fact that time travel is involved, the level of craziness would have peaked already — but that doesn't appear to be the case with Legends Of Tomorrow, as the Season 2 trailer has revealed that we will see zombie confederate soldiers. Yep, you heard me right — freakin' zombies are coming to the Arrow-verse! And if that isn't crazy enough for you, the team also seems to run into a mutated giant.
Oh, and did I mention that a caveman Ray Palmer runs into a T-Rex? And Professor Stein belts out a tune on stage too. Legends Of Tomorrow is about to get a whole lot crazier — and I can't wait!
Legion Of Doom Is Formed
Rex Tyler informs the Legends that they have no idea what they're up against, and boy is he right. Not long afterwards, he is ambushed by the Reverse-Flash Eobard Thawne. But as if The Flash's Season 1 big bad wasn't enough, he ends up coming face to face with Arrow's Season 4 big bad Damian Darhk, who is once again flanked by Nazi symbols. As the two forces know each other by name, it seems like this could truly be the beginning of an evil friendship. We know the Legion of Doom will play a major role in Season 2 of Legends, so expect to see the Dark Archer and an evil Captain Cold show up very soon.
Speaking of Cold, you saw that very brief shot of him near the end of the trailer, didn't you? Somehow the villain is alive and well, and as we know he's going to be showing up on The Flash in a few weeks, it's possible that Flashpoint may have undone his death. Either that, or Thawne, Darhk and Merlyn just recruit a younger, more villainous version of the character. No matter what versions of the presently dead villains we see, you can bet that they will be even more formidable together, than they ever were apart.
Supergirl Arrives In The Arrow-Verse
So I was just minding my own business, seriously enjoying all the amazing stuff yet to come on Legends Of Tomorrow when all of sudden, Supergirl showed up. Now that raised the stakes big time. It's the first official footage of Supergirl in the Arrow-verse. How the Girl of Steel will get there remains to be seen, but this first shot of her in the shared universe with the Legends music playing in the background was enough to give me chills.
Furthermore, the team receive a transmission from Barry Allen, only it's not the present day Barry Allen who is currently raising hell in multiple timelines on The Flash, no. It's an older Barry Allen from the year 2056, who apologizes for contacting Rip Hunter under these circumstances but he can't put any more lives in danger. Perhaps it is his message from the future that leads to the team locating Supergirl. With so many amazing moments, I really thought it couldn't get any bigger, but then it did.
She's Joined By The Flash, Green Arrow And The Legends
After Supergirl debuts in the trailer, we also see the Flash, Green Arrow and the Legends joining her. Not only is this monumental as it's the first meeting between the Green Arrow and the Girl Of Steel but it's also likely a clip from the major crossover. The reason they all unite at this moment may also have something to do with Barry's message. But I don't think we need to guess about what brought them together, as they all stand on a rooftop and ominously stare into the sky. The Dominators are coming.
Season 2 Is Going To Be Amazing
With the JSA's debut, Supergirl's arrival, the Arrow-verse crossover and Legion of Doom — not to mention ninjas, dinosaurs and zombies — this season of Legends Of Tomorrow looks like it's going to be even more amazing than the first.
With Arrow's return to prominence, The Flash's amazing premiere and Supergirl's debut on The CW, the time-traveling series has a lot to compete with. And if this trailer is anything to go by, Legends Of Tomorrow might just be the one to beat.
Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2 premieres on The CW on Thursday October 13. Are you excited for the brand new season? Let us know in the comments!
