(Warning: Mild chronology-based SPOILERS for the Marvel Cinematic Universe may be found below, albeit largely in a sufficiently non-specific context as to not actually ruin anything. Proceed with whatever level of caution that suggests to you is wise, though...)

Now, the Marvel Cinematic Universe may have largely taken place in "real time" up till now (i.e. Iron Man is set in 2008, and Captain America: Civil War in 2016), but that doesn't actually mean that the whole expanded MCU is quite as chronologically consistent as that sounds.

Thankfully, though, intrepid Imgur-er spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaccee recently posted a full chronological breakdown of the MCU, thus saving us all the trouble of working out just when the heck it's best to watch the final four episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2 on our next full Marvel run through. And, as it turns out...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe Makes Way More Sense In Chronological Order

Or, at least, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s place within it sure does.

First up, then?

Which, barring this coming weekend's arrival of Luke Cage, brings us pretty much up to date. Nicely played, spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaccee. Nicely played indeed.

Still want more on the MCU, though? How about some secret Stan Lee cameos, a Spidey/Star-Lord dance-off, and an explanation for a giant Doctor Strange-related plot-hole? And, of course, some unusual sightings of the good doctor...

In the meantime, though, what do you think? Do you agree with the chronological order above, or is it in need of some tweaking? Let us know below!
