One decade ago, German-born babe Michael Fassbender shot to fame after his portrayal of Stelios in 2006's epic 300 and has since turned his hand to indie movies (Fish Tank, Frank) and blockbusters alike. Now a fully-fledged Hollywood star, this Jack of all trades, whom you might know better as the cruel, ignorant Edwin Epps in 12 Years a Slave, or as X-Men's Magneto, is about to add a bunch of new titles to his already impressive back-catalogue.

Here's a complete guide to Michael Fassbender's upcoming movies:

1. Trespass Against Us

Trespass Against Us
Trespass Against Us
  • Director: Adam Smith
  • Who else stars? Brendan Gleeson, Rory Kinnear, Sean Harris
  • Fassbender's character: Chad Cutler
  • What's it about? It's a British crime drama focusing on one man as he tries to cut himself free from his gangster family. Hopefully it'll be gritty in the way Brit's do best, I'm thinking along the lines of Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
  • Release date: November 16, 2016

2. Assassin's Creed

  • Director: Justin Kurzel
  • Who else stars? Marion Cotillard, Michael Kenneth Williams, Jeremy Irons
  • Fassbender's character: Callum Lynch / Aguilar
  • What's it about? While Assassin's Creed is an action/adventure movie set in the same universe as the video game series, its story takes on a different beast. Expanding the franchise's mythology, the film will concentrate on the story of Callum Lynch (Fassbender) as he discovers his true heritage and amasses the kills to take on the oppressive and forceful Templar (age old enemies of the Assassins) organization.

  • Fassbender's character: Unknwon
  • What's it about? Two intersecting love triangles and dealing with intense emotional topics such as obsession and betrayal, set against the music scene in Austin, Texas. Plus the cast list looks like a telephone directory for every famous face in Hollywood, which is something Malick is developing an aptitude for.

4. Alien: Covenant

Promethius
Promethius
  • Director: Ridley Scott

A (supposedly) terrifying sequel to 2012's Prometheus, the narrative follows the crew of colony ship Covenant, and stumbles across what they believe to be an uncharted paradise — which, spoilers, it's obviously not. Instead, they've discovered a dangerous world whose sole inhabitant is the only survivor of Prometheus — Michael Fassbender.
