As hard as it was for fans to lose Fast & Furious icon Paul Walker, it hit the people closest to him the hardest. Friends, family, and the Fast family have given many beautiful tributes to the late actor over the years, and for co-star Michelle Rodriguez, the pain is still very real.

In a recent interview with EW, Rodriguez spoke openly about the loss that she feels, acutely, whenever the Fast & Furious franchise is brought up:

"Paul’s the heart of it, he’s the guy who really loved the genre, he loved that lifestyle. And not having that love affair with cars and that lifestyle, it removed a certain aspect of the soul of the franchise and it hurts all of us and we all know it."

There's no doubt that Paul's passion for the fast-paced world of racing and flash cars added a certain je ne sais quoi to the series, even eerily foreshadowing his own demise with his words.

Rodriguez has opened up to EW before, confessing that she acted out of grief after losing her buddy Paul:

"I actually went on a bit of a binge. I went crazy a little bit. I went pretty crazy. A lot of the stuff I did... I would never do had I been in my right mind."

Good on you, Michelle, for being honest, even when it's hard.
