Miley Cyrus wants us all to know that she feels so remorseful about how privileged she is that even the simple joys in life, such as a gentle hike, are awash with sympathy rashes and relentless white guilt.

In an interview with Elle Magazine, the Happy Hippie tore her heart chakra right open and revealed her delicate, bird-like soul through topics as diverse as Britney Spears and child sex slavery.

Clearly an empathetic person through and through, Miley can't help but view the world through other people's eyes and, naturally, walking a mile in Britney's bejeweled stilettos is part of this. Like many people when they were witnessing the beginning of Britney's Las Vegas tour (but, let's be clear, now she slays), Miley wondered whether the mom of two wouldn't rather be plopped down on the couch watching cable.

"[My manager Adam Leber] works with her; we’ve stayed close because of that. She’s a little distant in her world. I just want Britney to be happy. Every time she puts out new music, I’m like, ‘Is that what she wants to be doing? Or does she just want to chill?"

But Miley's compassion for those around her doesn't only extend to fellow pop stars, she also thinks that posing on a red carpet when some people in the world are starving is Zoolander level dumb:

“[A year ago] I had to do the [A Very Murray Christmas] premiere, and I will never do a red carpet again. Why, when people are starving, am I on a carpet that’s red? Because I’m ‘important’? Because I’m ‘famous’? That’s not how I roll. It’s like a skit—it’s like Zoolander.”

These deep feelings for the world's plight can leave Miley feeling pretty down on herself, especially when she enjoys such high status and wealth, which has even led to medical problems:

“For a long time, I couldn’t sleep because I just felt so guilty. I was covered in rashes because I was so stressed. Even today, I dropped my water on my hike and felt like such an asshole. There are children being sold into sex slavery; how can I go on a hike right now? So now I try to do as much as I can through [my foundation] Happy Hippie.”

While I can't help but resist gently poking fun about someone so wealthy thinking that ceasing to walk the red carpet will somehow end world poverty, there is no denying Miley's heart is in the right place.

A lot of celebrities might just distance themselves from the sorrow they feel about inequality in the world, but Miley, at the tender age of 23, has already decided to do something about it.

Through the Happy Hippie foundation, Miley is doing her best to make the world a slightly better place each day by lending a hand to LGBT teens — a group of young people who are more likely to be made homeless or become victims of abuse than others in their age group.

Miley might not necessarily have a way with words, but she definitely has a heart of gold when it comes to helping the disenfranchised.

Do you think more celebrities should think about those less fortunate than them on the regular?
