Arguably one of the most forward-thinking, progressive and sexiest shows on Netflix, #OrangeIsTheNewBlack is a true champion of providing equal opportunities, and this apparently applies to its cast as well.

In a wonderfully refreshing move, the Netflix gods that be have asked Laura Prepon who plays Alex Vause, the Shows infamous heroine dealing femme-fatale and other-half of #Vauseman, to sit in the directors chair for an Episode in the upcoming Fifth Season of the Series, and we can't wait to see it.

Laura Will Be Joining OITNB Director Royalty

Laura is not the first actress-turned-director to step behind the camera on the Netflix prison drama. She'll be joining the likes of Jodi Foster, star of Taxi Driver and Silence of the Lambs who also recently directed George Clooney and Julia Roberts in Money Monster as well as '80s heartthrob Andrew McCarthy, who starred in St Elmo's Fire and Pretty in Pink before directing eleven Episodes of Orange is the New Black.

This Is Not Laura's First Time Directing

In 2011, Laura along with actor boyfriend Scott Michael Foster (Greek) and his real-life friend and neighbor, the musician Jamie Jorns came together to create Neighbros, a series of short sketches about neighbors, who are also bros. Go figure. On her website LauraPrepon.com, she states that:

Using only her Canon XL-2 that she purchased to help her with her film school assignments, they shot the entire Series on literally no budget in the apartment block that both Scott and Jamie were living in at the time. The entire Web Series is available to watch on her website.

But She Was Still A Little Nervous

Although she absolutely relished being able to direct her co-stars who are also her really good friends, speaking to the U.S. Breakfast Show Today just before shooting, Prepon said:

"I start directing my episode of Orange in about a week and a half... Talk about a challenge! I'm really excited about it. That's something I've wanted to do for a long time, and I'm getting my shot this show..."

But being able to work with her friends in combination with her previous directing experience meant that she felt pretty comfortable about the job at hand:

"It's gonna be great. Everyone's so supportive, and I've directed myself before so that'll be fine... I can't wait."

And The OITNB Fandom Has Worked Out Exactly Which Episode Laura Has Directed

Thanks to this brilliant closeup of Laura's OITNB clapperboard, we can make out that along with having Ludovic Littee who has worked on the likes of Shame, Blue Valentine and House of Cards as her cinematographer, that Laura has directed Episode Ten of the Fifth Season. We can only assume that, as it's pretty late in the Series, it's probably going to be quite an important Episode, no doubt filled with Vasueman drama, raunchy chapel sex scenes and an illicit system of contraband which manages to find a way to flow in and out of Litchfield due to some new cunning plan.

Roll on Orange is the New Black Season 5!
