After massive leaps in technology and also the success of films such as Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book, it seems like Hollywood studios are suddenly clambering over themselves to make live-action versions of beloved properties.
And following on from news of a live-action Lion King, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast, it seems the next timeless tale to get the live-action treatment will be Beatrix Potter's The Tale of Peter Rabbit.
The character of Peter Rabbit was created way back in 1893, when Beatrix Potter wrote the story for the son of her former governess. Years later Potter self-published the book, and eventually it was commercially printed and became a huge success.
The story told the story of the naughty Peter Rabbit who disobeyed his mother in search of delicious vegetables in Mr. McGregor's garden. After barely escaping the old man's clutches, an ill Peter makes it home and is sent to bed by his mother with chamomile tea for supper, while his well behaved sisters get milk and blackberries.
Now, over 100 years since Potter first penned the story, the story will get its first ever big screen adaptation thanks to Sony. Though the film won't be released until March 2018, many of the voice cast has already been announced and it's become immediately clear that Peter Rabbit will be amazing. Take a peek at the voice cast for the upcoming live-action flick Peter Rabbit below:
James Corden — Peter Rabbit

Actor, comedian and presenter, James Corden is taking on the role of the mischievous Peter Rabbit. There's no doubt that the playful host of The Late Late Show will bring his A-game when voicing the famous British bunny.
Domhnall Gleeson — Mr. McGregor

Domhnall Gleeson has recently shot to stardom after starring a slate of high profile movies throughout 2015, and now the Irish actor will lend his voice to the character of Mr. McGregor. Traditionally the character of Mr. McGregor has been elderly, though given how talented the 33-year-old is, there's no doubt he'll make this role his own.

"That's a good idea bunny." The actress formerly known as Harley Quinn is said to be the latest big name circling a role in Peter Rabbit. She could be sticking to her Suicide Squad tricks as one of Peter's mischievous sisters, or take on the more serious role of Mrs. Josephine Rabbit. It is reported that the Thunder from Down Under is in final negotiations to join Will Gluck's trip to the garden centre.
What you've seen/heard her in: Silent Witness, Mr Selfridge, Scrawl, Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens.
Star Wars star, Daisy Ridley is also on board to voice an as-yet-unknown character. With the voice actors of Peter's three sisters Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail still to be confirmed, it's possible that she'll be voicing one of them, or potentially Peter's mother, Mrs. Josephine Rabbit.
