On October 6th, Marvel Entertainment announced further casting for their upcoming The Punisher Netflix show. While we've already seen Frank Castle/The Punisher during Season 2 of Daredevil, it was a mystery what other characters would be included in his own series. Due to the nature of the character, the Punisher does not exactly have a variety of supporting characters — especially villains — as he tends to kill them. So, let's meet the cast and explore what we know of their roles so far.
Ben Barnes Is Billy Russo (And Possibly Someone Else?)
Ben Barnes is an actor who has been active for less than 10 years. His most noteworthy role would have to be as Prince/King Caspian in the Chronicles of Narnia movies, which were not exactly box office smashes. Since then, he has been bouncing around and building up his resume in a variety of different roles and productions. Currently, he can be seen in the HBO series Westworld as Logan.
So who is Billy Russo? Well, people may know him more as Jigsaw. As mentioned before, the Punisher is not a character who has a steady rogues gallery. However, there is one enemy that he cannot seem to rid the world of, and that is Billy Russo, a.k.a. Jigsaw, the mafia assassin known for his good looks (which the Punisher inevitably ruins, setting the two up to become archenemies).
Ebon Moss-Bachrach Is Micro
Ebon Moss-Bachrach is more unknown actor. Though he has been around as early as 2001, he is not a household name. He has appeared in a variety of projects such as The Royal Tennenbaums, Stealth and can be seen on the HBO show Girls. This might be a peculiar choice of casting as Ebon is a far cry from how the character is usually envisioned.
Micro (or Microchip as he was originally introduced) is the stalwart ally of The Punisher. Micro is a man of many skills, mainly being a computer and weapons expert. The Punisher is many things, but is not known for his technical prowess — and he also has to get his weapons from somewhere.
The Punisher and Micro have a rocky history in the comics, so it will be interesting to see how the show interprets their relationship.

Amber Rose Revah Is Dinah Madani
Amber Rose Revah is probably the least known out of the three casting announcements, at least in America. However, she has built up quite the resume overseas in her native England. Her biggest project probably known to Americans is the 2010 film From Paris with Love. This is sure to be her big break in the US and with American audiences.
Dinah Madani is an originally created character for the show. Described as a Homeland Security agent that is vexed by The Punisher, her character can take cues from many other characters from the comics. Based on the description, Dinah may possibly take the place of Kathryn O'Brien and Rachel Cole-Alves, but the jury is still out.
The Punisher will be released sometime in 2017 on Netflix. What do you think about these casting choices? Do you think the show will follow the comics or make their own path?
