Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange is the 14th overall installment of the interconnected Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's also Marvel's second release of this year after Captain America: Civil War, and the sixth movie of 2016 to fall under the #superhero category.

So with the year coming to an end, you've probably had your fair share of superhero action. Whether you were impressed, disappointed, or blown away by any superhero movie this year, when you have a soft spot for the genre, it's a safe bet to say that you will be in theaters this November to watch #DoctorStrange.

Nevertheless, there are a good number of people who are unfamiliar with the character in the first place, and those people might just need the right reasons to move it to the theater to check out Doctor Strange's first big-screen appearance. So without further ado, here are five reasons why you should be watching Doctor Strange this weekend:

1. The Excellent Cast

If #Marvel does one thing with flying colors, it is casting the right actors, and Doctor Strange is no exception. Putting aside the fact that this is a superhero flick, any movie would be extremely lucky to have actors of such high caliber coming together on the same screen.

Led by three Oscar nominees in #BenedictCumberbatch (as Dr. Stephen Strange), #RachelMcAdams (as Christine Palmer), Chiwetel Ejiofor (as Mordo), and an actual Oscar winner in Tilda Swinton (as The Ancient One), Doctor Strange is showcasing one of the strongest casts of any movie this year. These big names are also joined by the Hannibal star and fan-favorite #MadsMikkelsen as the villain Kaecilius, and completed by the name-convenient Benedict Wong (playing a character named Wong). Needless to say, this all-star cast is definitely an ensemble worth checking out.

2. The Stunning Visuals

Another thing with which Doctor Strange will distinguish itself is its unique use of visual effects and #CGI. If you've already seen the trailers, then you might have an idea what you're in for.

Comparisons have been made to the likes of #Inception and #Interstellar, but Doctor Strange aims to utilize visual effects in a more "trippy" manner in order to properly introduce the element of magic into the #MarvelCinematicUniverse. It would also be a new way to bring magic to the big screen in general, as the magic of Doctor Strange will not be very similar to how magic and witchcraft have been portrayed in other movies.

Instead, the movie will take the route of exploring parallel dimensions and universes within universes; the worlds of mysticism that many are not even aware exist. It's a tough task, considering that the movie is taking after the art from comic books in the '60s by legendary artist Steve Ditko as inspiration.

Fortunately for us, though, today's technology will just be capable of bringing this very special type of magic to the big screen. Something which will make the movie worth the 3D ticket, which is not something you could say for many #3D releases nowadays.

3. The Critical Praise

The initial reception for Doctor Strange has been nothing short of encouraging. The critics who got to see the movie early have lifted the embargo on their reviews indicating that Doctor Strange is yet another success for #MarvelStudios.

As a lesser-known character from the comic books, Doctor Strange might be a tough sell for casual moviegoers, but keep in mind that those casual moviegoers had no idea who the Guardians of the Galaxy or Ant-Man were before seeing them on screen, and the result? Casual movie-goers loved Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man!

So next to the cast and Marvel's track record, the positive critical reception is just a plus to add some reassurance to your movie plans this November. Here are some of the social media reactions to Doctor Strange:

4. It's A Fresh Take On Superheroes

By now you probably have grasped that this is unlike any superhero you have ever seen. This isn't #Batman, #Deadpool, or even #TheAvengers. This is a story about a successful yet arrogant neurosurgeon who meets his downfall after his hands were compromised. In order to heal the impossible, he must first learn to heal his soul through the ways of the mystic arts, embarking on a journey that will ultimately lead him to become the primary protector of humanity from extra-dimensional threats. All of this, as he fulfills his destiny and becomes the Sorcerer Supreme and Master of the Mystic Arts.

See? Very different.

5. It Explores Yet Another Corner In The MCU

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is ever-expanding. It has given birth to 13 movies in eight years, introducing various sub-franchises like #IronMan, #Thor, and #CaptainAmerica, piecing together the mega-franchise that is this whole shared universe of movies (and TV series, for the diehard followers).

Never before in this complex world have we seen magic. Remember, this all happens in the world in which The Avengers protect the Earth, the Guardians of the Galaxy protect the universe, and #Daredevil protects the streets. Doctor Strange introduces us to the mystical realm and its threats, which are most definitely a part of this universe, too.

So Doctor Strange will have his hands full doing some protection as well, and in doing so, many doors will be opened to introduce a number of new characters and possibilities (or, well, impossibilities) that most definitely will take part in changing the whole landscape and shaping the future of the #MCU.

SYNOPSIS:
