Warning: This article contains spoilers from Season 7 of Showtime's Shameless.
Season 7 of Shameless debuted last week with a premiere episode that went back to basics for the Gallaghers and things show no signs of becoming any less crazy in the latest installment of the hit show. Frank walled himself in upstairs (as you do), Fiona refused to discuss what happened last season with her and Sean, Lip began his internship and Ian came to the conclusion that he is one hundred percent gay. Just your average day in the Gallagher household.
With the new beginnings well under way for America's most shameless family, let's take a look at some things you might have missed from Season 7, Episode 2 "Swipe, F**k, Leave."
1. Fiona Is Building Up Her Walls Too
Frank may be the one erecting concrete walls in the Gallagher household, but he's not the only Gallagher who's walling themselves in. Fiona refuses to talk about Sean and what he did to her in Season 6. Instead she's building walls, keeping herself guarded and pretending that she's okay.
It's true that life is going well for Fiona at the moment, but that's not going to make her problems go away. The interesting bit lies in the fact that the episode ended with Fiona tearing down Frank's walls. I wonder if, in the process, she will tear her own down too?
2. Lip's Inner Struggle
Ever since he came out of rehab, Lip has been trying to achieve that fresh start. His new internship began this week but outside of work he is still struggling with his alcohol consumption. I'm not sure if you noticed, but when Frank enters the alibi with Liam in tow, Lip pushes his drink away for fear of becoming like his father. Before exiting the premises, he gave one long look to his dad of name only and left. Could this be Lip's future in front of him?
Lip stood a chance of getting out of the South Side of Chicago but the last two seasons saw him throw his potential out the window. Let's hope he can get it back before it's too late. Otherwise we might have Frank Gallagher 2.0 on our hands. Not a nice thought, that's for sure.
3. Liam Speaks
Liam went on a little adventure with Frank because apparently Frank has disowned all his other children and absolved them of the Gallagher name. Anyways, I couldn't believe what I was hearing when Liam spoke — If my memory serves me correctly then it's the first time the little Gallagher has ever had something to say.
He spoke about three times in the episode and I guess, as a fan of the show, it's just something that takes a little getting used to. If we're lucky enough to get several more years out of Shameless (and hey why wouldn't we?) then perhaps Liam will have a much more pivotal role in the future.
4. Svet And V Make A Great Team (And A Cute Couple)
We've seen Svetlana, Kev and Veronica functioning very well in their new "throuple" relationship but something that I thought was pretty important in the latest episode was how well Svetlana and Veronica worked as a team.
There was no jealousy or the typical "other woman" stereotype, they functioned perfectly together and made a pretty cute couple in the process. I had my doubts about the whole setup between the three characters but I have to say that this storyline is proving to be one of my favorites of the season. Any more screen time devoted to Svetlana is always a bonus.
5. Bye Bye Caleb
Caleb got his just deserts for cheating on Ian this week when Ian finally ended their relationship. If I'm being honest I never really liked Caleb and I'm pretty sure most people felt that way too. He was too condescending towards Ian. The break up scene more than likely signifies Caleb's last appearance on the show.
This break-up opens up a world of possibilities for Ian now — he's no longer just Caleb's boyfriend and he can finally move back to the Gallagher household. This week's episode also saw Ian attempting to define what sexuality really is and I have a feeling that this will continue to be explored in future episodes. For now though we can take heart in the fact that Caleb is finally gone. Bye bye Caleb, I wish I could say that we'll miss you, but we really won't.

5. Sharon Lawrence And Ruby Modine Join The Show
Back in July it was reported that NYPD Blue star Sharon Lawrence would be joining the cast of Shameless in a pivotal role. The Hollywood Reporter told us that:
Lawrence will have a multiple-episode role and play Margo, a self-made real estate mogul who owns the coffee shop where Fiona works. The character will wind up becoming something of a role model for Fiona.
The latest episode introduced viewers to Margo who appears to be one badass bitch. I'm rather confused as to how she's going to be inspirational for Fiona because during her minor appearance in the episode she barely acknowledged Fiona's presence in the room at all. Having said that, she did allow Fiona to keep running Patsy's Pies as long as she didn't lose any money. I wonder how Fiona will come to see her as a role model? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
It was a known fact that actress Ruby Modine would have a role on Season 7 of Shameless and the latest episode saw her first appearance on the show. Modine is playing Sierra who is Fiona's new staff member at Patsy's Pies. The character is set to become Fiona's friend but she also seems to have her sights set on Lip.
I have a feeling that Sierra will play a pivotal role in the show — I'm not sure what yet, but I definitely think she'll play an important part. Perhaps she'll be a regular next season.
7. Swipe, F**ck, Leave
The title of the episode referred to Fiona's changing perception of casual relationships. However, the title extends beyond Fiona as we saw a similar thing happen with Ian this week. Upset and confused about Caleb cheating on him with a woman, Ian decided to try out heterosexuality and after hooking up some random girl he met on the train, he quickly came to the conclusion that it was not for him.
I guess this exploration of the modern relationship is part of the new beginnings theme that Cameron Monaghan suggested we would see in the seventh season. While I can't see Ian sticking at it for too long, it'll be interesting to see if Fiona manages to stay away from long-term relationships like she pledged.
Check out a preview of next week's Shameless:
Shameless' fall return is proving successful so far and the Gallagher clan are certainly starting over this season. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes them to revert to their usual, shameless ways. Will Fiona ever talk about Sean? Will Frank finally get kicked out of the house? Who knows what'll happen over the course of the season? Despite their crazy, we still love them anyway. I can't think of any other way to describe the second episode — it was purely shameless.
