The day someone green-lights a Marvel Zombies Ghibli film directed by Xavier Dolan is the day I will be happy. Any day now...

Monsters are multiplying. Hot on the heels of the beastly Kong: Skull Island trailer comes Universal's own revamp of a classic horror franchise: The Mummy, which will rise from its tomb on June 9, 2017. While we wait for this new world of gods and monsters to hit cinemas, check out the first trailer tease for Tom Cruise's upcoming blockbuster below.

Directed by Alex Kurtzman, The Mummy stars Cruise alongside Jake Johnson (Jurassic World), Courtney B. Vance (American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson) and Russell Crowe (Gladiator), whose role as Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde will help usher in a new Universal Monster cinematic universe that will also include The Wolfman, The Invisible Man, Bride of Frankenstein, and Van Helsing later down the line.
