The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere sent shockwaves across the internet. The 7 months since the Season 6 finale have been torture, as fans waited to see who Negan had killed. Fans were shocked to find out that not one, but two, characters' lives were extinguished at the hands of this merciless villain.

Check out the infamous season 6 cliffhanger below:

The media has chosen to focus on the the two victims, Abraham and Glenn, and the man who killed them both, Negan. There is one character who has garnered no attention for their part in the episode ironically titled "Right Hand Man". This character is of course, Lucille. We are going to take a deeper look into the origin of this amazing lady and see what her feelings and motivations were during the horrific course of events.

Let's Get To Know Lucille

It's easy to look at Lucille as if she is just an object, but she's much more than that. She is truly the love of Negan's life; his best friend, and confidant. She is a strong, powerful, and elegant woman who's almost as famous as the man who wields her. We wanted to dig a bit more and really get a real understanding of what makes Lucille tick. We reached out to her people and were delighted by their response.

We had the immense pleasure of sitting down with Lucille, who graciously granted us an exclusive 1-on-1 interview. She has been absolutely overwhelmed by the notoriety she's garnered a result of her relationship with Negan:

You know, it's been surreal. I've been with Negan for years, we've been through a lot together. It's crazy that this is the thing that has launched us in to super-stardom.

With all the controversy surrounding the death of Glenn and Abraham, she sheds a little light on the decision making process regarding Negan and his now infamous version of 'Eeny, meeny, miny, moe':

People see Negan "picking" who I'm going to get acquainted with, and that was not a rash decision at all. Actually we had an in depth discussion of who was going to "eat it", and Abraham was of course my first choice, mostly because of that ridiculous facial hair! I mean come on, what was that?

Of course, Abraham wasn't the only person Lucille met that fateful night. She went on to tell us of her surprise after the death of Abraham:

Like I said before, I knew Abraham was going down. We had decided that, now Glenn, Glenn I had no idea about, I was just as shocked as everyone else. When that man [Daryl] hit Negan, I knew something was about to happen. I would have never guessed in a thousand years that I would be pulling a double-shift that day.

She seemed genuinely shocked by the events that occurred. However, she was more upset about something else that transpired that day:

Negan and I have been together almost since the beginning. When we found each other we were both lost and in a state of mourning after everything went to shit. He is actually the one who named me, albeit after his diseased wife. So I was really hurt and surprised when Negan said that Simon was his right hand man. I mean Simon is a nice guy and all, it just didn't sit well with me after all we've been through.

Seeing as she was visibly upset, we changed gears a bit and asked her what she thought about Negan and Rick's relationship moving forward.

Rick was a great leader, but as with all endeavors, there is always someone better. Negan has proved without a shadow of a doubt that he is in charge now. It took some doing, but Rick finally understands that now. Negan lives by a code, a specific code that might be beyond some people's understanding. They haven't been through what we've been through, they just can't wrap their heads around it.

Trying to press the issue, we asked if she could give us a little glimpse of their enigmatic past. However, she just laughed and shrugged off that line of questioning. We then began to discuss Negan's brutality, which she was happy to shed some light on:

People that are upset about the manner in which I was used to dispatch the two certainly just want something to cry about. We live in a post-apocalyptic world where zombies eat people alive. Nobody complains when Rick uses his silly little axe to kill zombies, do they? But as soon as Negan and I show up and poor Glenn's eye bugs out just a little bit, everyone loses their minds!

We had to know how she felt about the media not mentioning her name in regards to the event and mostly focusing on Negan.

I'm pretty much use to it at this point in my life. People don't give bats the respect they deserve. It's been that way since the early 1900's. Everyone is quick to talk about Babe Ruth, Derek Jeter, and Hank Aaron, but they couldn't have gained any recognition if they didn't have a bat to hit the ball with. So in this zombie-fliled-nightmare-world it doesn't surprise me that nothing has changed.

Before she had to go, she wanted her fans - whom she referred to as 'Lucille Ballers' - to know:

I want to thank all of my supporters who have sent nothing but good vibes and love throughout this whole crazy ride. This is only with beginning, Negan and I are here to stay. We look forward to what the future holds and are very excited for all of you to join us on our adventure.

It was certainly a pleasure to have Lucille take time out of her busy schedule to sit down with us. Hopefully this has shed some light on Negan's "First Lady" and helped bring her a little more into the spotlight. We look forward to her further adventures with Negan on this and future seasons of The Walking Dead, which airs Sunday's on AMC 9PM/ET.

Will Lucille be Negan's first lady for long? By the looks of this video, she's got some stiff competition...
