Warning: This article contains spoilers for Arrow Season 5, Episode 6 "So It Begins." Be warned, Prometheus is watching.

Arrow's fifth season has really been hitting the mark, with each episode exciting us even more than the last. In only a few episodes, we have seen a brand new Team Arrow come together to save Star City, a new District Attorney who has a secret obsession with ski-goggles and the city's own mayor fake his own death. But amidst it all, there is one burning question that the #TV series has kept us asking — who is Prometheus?

So far, the terrifying archer has given us no clues as to who his/her secret identity is. However, this week's episode of Arrow "So It Begins" revealed that a certain Star City resident just might be the "Throwing Star Killer" known also as Prometheus. But there is a very strong possibility that this "revelation" was merely used to throw us off the scent. It's far too early for the show to be revealing Prometheus' true identity. Which means the mystery surrounding the character is still very much alive and well. But there's another certain Star City resident who has all the credentials to be the sword-wielding villain. And that, is Thea Queen.

Could Thea Queen Be Prometheus?

Way back at the beginning of the series, Thea Queen was Oliver's rebellious little sister who was getting into trouble for using Vertigo. Flash forward five years and she is the Green Arrow's sidekick Speedy, who is exceptionally skilled and fast-learning.

In those four years, Thea found out that her father was the murderous Dark Archer, her brother was the vigilante the Arrow/hero Green Arrow and that her boyfriend was his sidekick Arsenal. On top of that, she has also lost her non-biological father, her mother, her best friend and one of her boyfriends.

But does that make her Prometheus? Not necessarily. But that doesn't mean that she isn't. At the end of the day, Thea has been through more heartache than anyone should ever have to endure. And the vast majority of that heartache only started up when her brother returned to town as the Arrow. Although she has remained close to Oliver, does she secretly blame him for everything that happened?

And perhaps Laurel's death was the last straw. After all, Thea isn't a part of the team anymore and it's because of this decision that we don't see her as often. Has she been given this reduced role for a reason? You know, we never have seen Prometheus and Thea Queen in the same room now, have we?

The truth is that Prometheus is somebody who has been close to Oliver Queen at some point. Remember, we recently found that he was melting down Arrows that the Mayor used on some of his previous victims, so while we would naturally assume that it was a member of the SCPD, it could always be someone close enough to Oliver to obtain the arrows and skilled enough to steal them from evidence. And we all know that Thea is skilled.

She's Got The Right Skills For The Job

Prometheus is deadly, there's no doubt about that — he easily disposed of an entire squad of police officers just so he could exact revenge on Tobias Church. But if there's something we learned from the past two seasons, it's that nobody can be more deadly than Thea. Trained by the Dark Archer Malcolm Merlyn, Thea Queen's skills are arguably as good as her brother's — the Green Arrow. She could take out almost anyone without a second thought — she's just that damn good — remember that time she went toe-to-toe with the Arrow?

Furthermore, how many archers do we have in Star City? With Artemis recently picking up the skill, this week's episode went to great lengths to eliminate her as a suspect. And we all know it's not Oliver. That leaves Thea as the only remaining archer in Star City. And judging from previous episodes, she's pretty wicked with the bow and arrow. But it's not just the arrows. Prometheus is an exceptionally skilled swordsman, swinging that blade with ease wherever he goes. The only other person who is that good with a sword is Thea.

Of all the #superheroes on the show, Speedy was the only one to have a sword pouch in the back of her outfit. Could she have borrowed that for her Prometheus outfit too?

Is The Bloodlust Back?

Last year was a rough one for Thea Queen. Having been resurrected by the Lazarus Pit towards the end of Season 3, she developed an unquenchable bloodlust and spent most of last season haunted by it. This bloodlust led to her completely losing all sense of who she was as she would find herself enveloped in a fit of rage, taking out her aggression on the person who angered her — remember when she set Anarky on fire?

Although she was cured of the bloodlust and overcame her demons by the end of the season, could they have returned? Perhaps the bloodlust has driven her made, and forced her to take her rage out on the one person she loves the most —her brother. Or perhaps Prometheus is a subconscious personality that has manifested in order to quench Thea's hunger for killing? Remember when Sara Lance was resurrected, she was a completely different and murderous person for a while before her soul was restored by John Constantine. Could Thea's bloodlust have caused the same thing to have happened to her, with it manifesting itself as Prometheus?

With all the discussion over Prometheus' true identity, we have to wonder if the suspect has been there all along right under our noses. Thea Queen has had one hell of a story on Arrow so far and if there's anyone that could end up losing herself in the demonic Prometheus, it's most definitely her. Between her incredible combat skills and sword-wielding history — not to mention that unquenchable bloodlust — there is certainly a strong case for thinking that Thea just might be Prometheus.
