I'm pretty sure absolutely everyone and their dog loved the mini mockumentary regarding what Thor was doing during Captain America: Civil War. The only reason I can imagine for you not loving it is that you haven't yet seen it yet, so allow yourself to remedy that illness by watching it here:

In the wake of this, Change.org user Ty Schmidt has set up a petition for a Netflix show based off of the above skit. Before we continue, here's the link to that petition, because there can be no doubt that after watching the video, you also want this to be a thing.

Does This Mean Anything?

One could easily pass this off as simply a fun little idea from somebody who enjoyed the mockumentary, and while that's true, there is something to be learned from such a positive reaction to this style of humor. See, the skit has Taika Waititi's style all over it, and with him being the director of Thor: Ragnarok, this bodes well for the reception of the film. Previous Thor movies haven't really relied on Chris Hemsworth's comedic sensibilities, yet here - and in many other cases - he has shown himself to be quite the comedic talent.

It also shows us some banter between Bruce Banner and Thor, and it's really funny. Perhaps it's not as funny as the stuff with Darryl, but it's undeniable that the chemistry between Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth works incredibly well on-screen. This is especially exciting when you consider that Thor: Ragnarok will be venturing into 'buddy comedy' territory. In the words of Ragnarok director Taika Waititi:

"There are buddy elements to it between Thor and the Hulk."

While many Marvel films have been very humorous, this kind of take on the universe shows a very different variety of humor compared to what we've seen before. It certainly has a more deadpan vibe than the quips and sarcasm of The Avengers. Essentially, what we can take away from this is that I'm more excited for Thor: Ragnarok now, and judging from the existence of this petition, it seems set to be quite the audience pleaser too.

Wrapping Up...

Are you also up for a fully fledged show about Thor and Darryl? While the prospect seems unlikely, it can't hurt to hope, right? I for one would be pretty stoked for it if we got a Netflix show, so let's all keep our fingers crossed.

Let me know what you think of Thor & Darryl TV show in the comments- and be sure to check out our video of the MCU actors goofing around on set. Turns out Chris Hemsworth isn't the only funny man in the Marvel Universe!
